Brandon Lake Featured on the Digital Cover of Hook & Barrel Magazine

Hook & Barrel Magazine has unveiled its new digital cover story on Brandon Lake, capturing a year filled with music, ministry, and meaningful growth. The feature paints a vivid picture of contrasts: the roar of stadium crowds one night, the quiet hum of a tractor the next morning.

In the interview, Lake opens up about the tension and beauty of living in both worlds. Whether performing “Gratitude” before thousands or walking the fields with his family, he’s learning that peace doesn’t depend on applause..

“It doesn’t get me excited for me,” Lake says. “It gets me excited knowing more and more people can stumble onto that and that it has the power to change their lives.”

Faith That Reaches Beyond the Stage

This year has been pivotal for Lake. His collaboration with Jelly Roll on “Hard Fought Hallelujah” dominated the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart for 26 weeks, crossed into the Billboard Hot 100, and earned his first CMA nomination. His latest album, King of Hearts, opened inside Billboard’s Top 10 across all genres - proof that a message of faith can move far beyond the walls of the church.

Still, for Lake, the success isn’t about numbers or awards. It’s about connection.

“Christian music was never meant to be a genre,” he says. “It’s a lifestyle. It’s a message.”

Rooted at Home

Away from the lights, Lake finds grounding in the rhythm of home life in McClellanville, South Carolina. Days on the farm with his wife Brittany and their three boys are filled with feeding cattle, fishing off the creek, and the kind of quiet that fame can’t reach.

He’s candid about how this slower pace has restored him. After his first major tour, he says he came home exhausted and emotionally drained. The turning point came when he stopped trying to manage it alone.

“The moment I leaned into my community and God, that’s when healing came,” he reflects. “Being outdoors, surrounded by creation, has become the most grounding part of my life.”

Lake’s story is one of humility and renewal - proof that purpose doesn’t end when the curtain falls. It continues in the stillness, in the soil, and in the space where faith and family meet.
